South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem defended a 20-year-old determination to kill her farm canine after on-line criticism from rival politicians.

Ms. Noem described taking pictures her “harmful” canine in her new e-book, excerpts of which have been printed by The Guardian. She obtained criticism from Democratic governors who posted images with their pets to tease her.
