Denver extends deadlines again for housing projects that overwhelmed planning queue in 2022

With an estimated 220 proposed housing tasks nonetheless within the planning division’s evaluation queue after an unprecedented rush to beat new affordability laws in 2022, the Denver Metropolis Council on Monday voted to increase approval deadlines for these tasks into subsequent 12 months.

The deadline for all venture plans that also qualify for the town’s Increasing Housing Affordability program grace interval to obtain remaining approval is now April 18, 2025. The Metropolis Council unanimously authorised that extension on Monday.

That is the second time the town has prolonged deadlines for venture plans submitted earlier than the housing affordability necessities took impact on July 1, 2022. The earlier deadlines ranged from Could 17 to Dec. 31 of this 12 months relying on the tasks’ specs and progress.
